What is a clinical geneticist?

A clinical geneticist is a doctor with specialist training in understanding how genetic changes in a person’s makeup cause or contribute to health conditions.

A clinical geneticist can diagnose rare conditions in adults and children, assess inherited risks, coordinate and interpret genetic testing, and help individuals and families make sense of complex information—whether addressing a familial cardiac condition, a child’s developmental concerns, evaluating cancer susceptibility, or planning for future generations.

Dr Ruvi Samarasekera delivers compassionate, expert clinical care, which is the foundation of First Light Genetics.
